Historic Chapel Weddings
Weddings at Boehm’s Chapel
Since 1791, people have been gathering here to celebrate life and love. At Boehm’s Chapel, you’ll find an enchanting experience that will make your special day truly memorable. As an official heritage landmark of the United Methodist Church and part of the Second Great Awakening, you’ll be steeped in the rich history of this space.
We welcome you and your partner, family, and friends to the chapel as you create your own history here.
Built in 1791, Boehm’s Chapel was the first Methodist Church in Lancaster County, the oldest existing structure built for Methodist worship in Pennsylvania, and the fourth oldest in the nation.
Fall in love with the history of our beautiful sanctuary. The space is an intimate, light-filled sanctuary that’s full of simple elegance. Perfect for small to medium weddings, the sanctuary can fit up to 120 guests, allowing you to be surrounded by friends and family.
The Tying Shed
On the day of your wedding, you’ll have access to our Tying Shed which is the perfect setting for photos with your friends and bridal party. Have your stylists pamper you as you relax in this stress-free space, surrounded by friends and loved ones.

Get married at the Chapel
The Chapel is a highly spiritual and historic space. We look forward to helping you celebrate as you follow in the footsteps of people from 1791 and create your own history together at Boehm’s Chapel.
When you choose to have your wedding at Boehm’s Chapel, for $650 you and your loved one can have a wedding rehearsal and the wedding ceremony; two hours for rehearsal and four and a half hours of time for the wedding day. You will also have access to the Tying Shed, our auxiliary building right next to the Chapel. This is a beautiful place for wedding parties to dress, do hair and makeup, and enjoy some special moments together.
Seating capacity is approximately one hundred fifty people with one hundred on the main floor (which includes the pews to the immediate right and left of the pulpit) and fifty in the balcony. Anyone in the pulpit can be seen by everyone in the pews; however, those seated in the balcony are unable to see the activity on the main floor. For this reason, weddings should be limited to no more than one hundred and twenty guests.
A security deposit of $150 is required but is returned if the rules are followed and no damage is done to facilities.
